DR ADAM N. WALK
A financial economist by training, Dr Adam Walk has been actively involved in governance for over 20 years as an executive, a consultant, an academic, and as a fiduciary (in both remunerated and pro bono capacities).
Concurrent with his work through Zuavi, Adam is a Director at Drew, Walk & Co., a house of consulting financial economists that assists family office, foundation, and fiduciary clients in the areas of investment consulting and counsel. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Portfolio Management and the Journal of Retirement and, with his longtime collaborator and friend Dr Michael Drew, Adam co-authored the monograph Investment Governance for Fiduciaries, which was published by the CFA Institute Research Foundation in 2019. He has previously held research appointments at Griffith University, an adjunct appointment at University of Notre Dame Australia, and taught at QUT and Macquarie University.
He is currently a Trustee Director, chair of the Risk Committee, chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, and Member of the Board Investment Committee, at Rest Super, chair of the Investment Committee at RSL Queensland, and Chairman and Trustee at Campion College Australia. He has previously been a member of, or advisor to, the Investment Committee at the following organisations: The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited (RACQ); Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane; Myer Family Company; Capital Partners; and, MGD Wealth.
Adam also brings a unique combination of qualifications and experience to church governance and stewardship, especially in the Catholic Church context. He has had experience in governance and advisory roles across the Catholic Church – with (arch)dioceses, church organisations, religious congregations, and their associated charitable works – since 2009, and he is currently a Board Member of Archdiocesan Development Fund of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, and a Member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the Trustees of Mary Aikenhead Ministries (the public juridic person that stewards the historic ministries of the Sisters of Charity, including St. Vincent’s Health Australia). In 2019, Adam was ordained Deacon for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane.
